Description

Cotton burn sheet 1x1m sterilized made of foam material, immersed in 900gr hydrocolloid gel of plant origin, in aluminum package.

The sterile Burnshield Hydrogel is a specialized medical aid for First Aid in terms of immediate and effective treatment of all stages (1st, 2nd & 3rd) and types of burns (thermal, radial, chemical), e.g. solar, condensate, scalding water, steam, fire, electrical appliances, etc. Necessary in any space such as the kitchen, school, office, car, moped, boat and generally where there is a risk of burns.

It is a hydrocolloid gel of plant origin, water 96%, vegetable oil of Melaleuca Alternifolia - Tea tree (Australian tea tree) and emulsifiers, sterilized with Gamma radiation (5 years from its manufacture), it is non-toxic and does not irritate. It is safe to use in children.

Its healing properties are:

1. It lowers the temperature of the burn, at the same time reduces the pain, cools, calms the victim and reduces the shock.
2. Moisturizes burnt skin and minimizes burn due to the fact that it is concentrated water (96%).
3. Reduces serum secretion from the burn due to a difference in molecular weight of hydrocolloid from saline.
4. It compresses the bubble due to a difference in osmotic pressure.
5. It prevents the progression of the burn, time is an important issue for the immediate treatment of the burn which increases by 30% in extent and depth.
6. Protects the burn from secondary infections due to the sterilization and antiseptic action of the Australian tea tree "tea tree oil".
7. It is a hydrocolloid gel, water soluble and is easily removed with saline for the doctor to see the depth of the burn.
8. It has a healing - anti-inflammatory effect, helps in rapid re-epithelialization and the formation of granulation tissue.
9. Reduces the patient's hospital stay by half if used immediately after the burn.

It is used in the outpatient clinics and in the surgical clinics of 57 hospitals in Greece, as well as in National emergency center (EKAB).
