Description

Diagnostic immunoassay test for the rapid detection of human hemoglobin in stool samples.

The results of the test help to more validly diagnose pathological conditions of the lower gastrointestinal tract.

The test also does not cross-react with bilirubin, vitamin C or horse radish peroxidase.

It is specific for human hemoglobin and does not cross-react with hemoglobin of bovine, porcine, horse, or sheep origin at concentrations up to 0.5 mg/mL.

Analytical sensitivity:

Samples containing human hemoglobin at concentrations of 40 ng/mL and above produce a positive result.

In some cases, samples containing human hemoglobin at concentrations below 40 ng/mL may also produce positive results.

Hook effect or prozone effect:

Samples containing up to 0.5 mg/mL hemoglobin can produce positive results. The tests show no hook effect or prozone effect up to the maximum observed physiological concentrations (0.5 mg/mL). Thus, the working range of the FOB (fecal) rapid detection test is from 40 ng/mL to 0.5 mg/mL.
